About ISR
The ISR International School on the Rhine (ISR) is a private, English-speaking institution located in Neuss, Germany, near Düsseldorf. Established in 2003, it was founded through a collaboration between the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, the city of Neuss, the Neuss Chamber of Commerce, and various international companies. Initially known as Internationale Schule am Rhein, the school underwent a reorganization in 2014, emerging as ISR International School on the Rhine gGmbH under new leadership. Today, it serves over 1,000 students from more than 50 countries, offering education from Kindergarten through Grade 12.
ISR's curriculum is designed to prepare students for global academic challenges. In the primary years, the school follows the Cambridge International Primary and Lower Secondary Curriculum, ensuring a solid foundation in core subjects. As students progress, they are introduced to a range of qualifications, including the SABIS® High School Diploma, IGCSE, Advanced Placement, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. The school emphasizes bilingual proficiency in English and German, with the option to study a third language such as French, Spanish, Japanese, or Chinese starting in Grade 6.
